How to support Walk Midlands. A guide to day walks in the English Midlands accessible without a car, for walkers interested in all aspects of the region’s people, landscape and history.
Ko-Fi
This is the principal way in which Walk Midland is funded. If you enjoy the walks and other content please consider tipping me a one off amount, or even better, setting up a monthly subscription.
Any such support is great appreciated! And will help me continue to put out walks and other content free at the point of access.
Constraints on my time (I work for a university 4 days a week as well as doing freelance work!) means that this is currently not an option. However, I would really like in future to use Ko-Fi as a platform to create and share interesting written feature type content about the landscape, people, culture and history of midlands if I can establish that there is an appetite for it.
Subscribe to Walk Midlands’ Channels
I am pleased to be able to offer the walks and the little bit of additional content I create on this site for free. It is my staunch belief that the English midland’s outdoor spaces, culture and heritage should be accessible to everybody regardless of their economic means.
However, if you are interested in my work, enjoy the walks and other content, then please do subscribe to the Walk Midlands Newsletter and consider following me on Twitter and Instagram.
Affiliate Marketing and Advertising
I have enabled a limited number of Google Adverts on the site as an additional income stream on top of Ko-Fi tips. I currently have an affiliate marketing agreement in place with Ordnance Survey who provide the excellent mapping app that I use to plan walks for what I consider to be a very reasonable price. As well as agreements with Osprey (whose backpacks I use on occasional multi-day walks in the Midlands and beyond) and English Heritage a national membership charity who do much to care for historic sites across the Midlands.
Sponsored Content
I am always keen to work with people and organisation’s whose work, aims and ethos match my own. If you would like to work together on a project, for instance a walk to a location where you are based or undertaking work, please get in touch via the contact page. I look forward to working with you.
Readers will always be clearly advised where content is sponsored or developed in partnership with an individual and organisation, so that you are aware of its provenance and can evaluate it in this light.
Freelance Commissions
In addition to my work producing walks and other content for Walk Midlands I am a skilled and versatile journalist, copywriter, social content producer and communiations expert with over 10 years experience.

As a marketing and communications professional I have worked with higher education institutions, NGOs, and an array of cultural and heritage organisations across the midlands region and beyond.
