After a successful nearly three years of publishing the Walk Midlands Newsletter there will be some substantial changes made from the next issue January 2025.
From the next issue the Walk Midlands Newsletter will change from its current home on Mailchimp to Substack. Should you wish to remain on the mailing list there is no need to do anything, your e-mail address will be ported to the new platform on 31st December 2024. Should you not want your e-mail address to be ported to the new platform please unsubscribe (see links in the header and footer of this e-mail). Details about how Substack stores and administers contact details securely in line with the UK GDPR can be found here. You will also receive a welcome e-mail which will give you information about Substack and its pirvacy policy and provide a further opportunity for you to umsubscribe should you wish to do so.
There will also be a number of content changes which will focus the newsletter more upon shortform written content about the English Midlands. Each month’s weekly walks will be continue to be collated and shared via the newsletter, and a short thematic essay will continue to feature. The rest of the newsletter will now consist of three very short essays on a topic of interest to Walk Midlands readers under the headers: Did You Know, Place to Go, Get to Know. Did you Know will share an interesting story from somewhere in the English Midlands. Place to Go will be about an interesting location somewhere in the English Midlands. Get to Know will be a profile of a person or organisation doing something interesting connected to walking in the English Midlands.
